ReadyStart is a non-profit organization that invests its resources to ensure that all children who reside in Collin, Denton and Wise Counties in Texas are prepared to start school fully ready to learn.

ReadyStart has chosen to focus on the first five years of life because they are critically important to a child's success in school and later life. Early experiences during this time influence the brain in a way that sets the foundation for language development, reasoning, problem solving, social skills, behavior and good emotional health. 

Just One Word
This year ReadyStart celebrates an important milestone. We’re turning 30! For the past 30 years, you have allowed us to be a part of your community and for that, we cannot thank you enough. Your support has given ReadyStart the chance to impact the lives of thousands of families in North Texas. We are proud of this accomplishment, but we also look with anticipation towards the future.

There is still so much work to be done to ensure that all young children get the best possible start in life. With this in mind, for our 30th year, we have decided to implement the "One Word Campaign." We want to share our stories with you...stories of past triumphs, stories of present efforts, and stories of future dreams.

Each month, ReadyStart will post a story that illustrates "one word'. These words, taken together, sum up the impact that we strive to make in the community while the stories are testaments to the importance of paying attention to the needs of babies and toddlers.
